Role Overview
The Manager – Food Processing Technologies will oversee the evaluation, installation, and optimization of food processing systems, machinery, and allied technologies. The role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on experience with food processing equipment, and clear understanding of vendor ecosystems to ensure efficient, sustainable, and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology & Process Management
- Select, install, and optimize food processing machinery across product categories.
- Ensure smooth operations with minimal downtime through preventive maintenance.
- Oversee adherence to food safety and regulatory standards (FSSAI, HACCP, ISO, etc.).
- Vendor & Procurement Management
- Identify, assess, and manage vendors for equipment, spares, and allied systems.
- Negotiate contracts and build long-term vendor partnerships.
- Ensure timely delivery, installation, and service support from suppliers.
- Project Execution
- Lead commissioning of new equipment and expansion projects.
- Coordinate with engineering and operations teams for seamless integration.
- Track project costs, timelines, and quality standards.
- Innovation & Efficiency
- Recommend adoption of new technologies for energy efficiency, automation, and waste reduction.
- Support R&D and production teams in technology validation and pilot trials.
- Training & SOP Development
- Train staff in safe equipment handling and troubleshooting.
- Develop and enforce SOPs for operations and maintenance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- 6–8 years of proven experience in managing food processing technologies, machinery, and allied systems.
- Strong knowledge of food processing equipment vendors (domestic and international).
- Hands-on expertise in installation, commissioning, and process optimization.
- Experience in vendor management, procurement, and negotiations.
